Naomi worked in ophthalmics/anaesthetics for 20 years, but in the last 10 years she has developed a passion for ocular plastics and paediatrics. Naomi has been an AONA member for 10 years and on the committee for 7 years.

After graduating nursing, the operating theatre beckoned. Cheryl became immersed into Ophthalmology and after twenty-five years has not looked back. She currently works at Sir Charles Gardener Hospital.

Jennie O’Hare

Jennie was drawn to Ophthalmology 20 years ago and is currently enjoying the mix of working in theatres at Sundew Day Surgery and Perth Eye Hospital, and working in Laser and Injection clinics at Joondalup Eye Clinic.  Jennie has been an AONA member for 19 years and joined the committee as website manager 5 years ago.

Sylvia works at Perth Eye Hospital in pre and post operative areas. She has a passion for Occupational Health and Safety.

Therese is a registered nurse at Fremantle Hospital. She works in the clinic dealing with all eye related issues.

Maike Kruse

Commitee Member

Maike completed her nursing in Germany after working as a social worker.  After moving to Australia, she worked in aged care, surgical and medical wards, GP practise and as a supervisor at ECU before starting a Perth Eye Hospital in 2012.

Maike is passionate about learning and education and joined AONA to improve the knowledge and professional development of herself and others, and to help create a strong ophthalmic nursing community in WA

Aily OH

Committee Member

Aily is a nurse of 34 years graduating from the School of Nursing in Singapore. She has worked in a Medical ward, medical centre, O&G clinic and Eye Clinic, her founded passion for 6 years before migrating to Perth.
In Perth, she has worked at SJOG Cardiac ward, DSU and SSU for 7 years, and Royal Perth Hospital Theatres over 3 months.  She presently is a Clinical Nurse at Perth Eye Hospital.
Aily has a fondness for classical music and also plays the piano.
